Longleaf Community

740x285 longleafThere's a magical feel to Longleaf, a neighborhood of about 500 homes off State Road 54 in New Port Richey. Longleaf was built to be a city unto itself. It has a compact downtown area, parks, playgrounds and walkable streets. Driveways and garages are to the back of almost all of the properties, with access through alleys. Without cars or other vehicles intruding upon the view, all one sees driving down the street is house after house, each with a big front porch, many with ivy, many with rockers on them. The whole neighborhood is set up for socializing with lots of people milling about. "It's a great community. The schools are A-rated. It has a community feel. The mailboxes are centrally located away from the houses. All of the houses have front porches too.
